Architecture Control Committee (ACC) Reminder

It’s that time of year when homeowners will start looking at their properties and plan to update landscaping or consider modifications to the exterior of their homes. 

 

We wanted to take a moment to remind all members of the association that section 3.07 of the RLOA Covenants require any external modifications, including new construction, renovation/remodeling, painting, landscaping, or any change that will affect the outward appearance of the home or property be approved by the RLOA board via the Architecture Control Committee (ACC) design review application prior to work being started.  The application form is attached for your review and use.  You can also retrieve the application from our website at Rancho Lomas Owner's Association - Design Review Application (rancholomasoa.org)

 

One of the primary responsibilities of our Homeowners Association (HOA) is to ensure that our community and our individual properties retain their value as much as possible.  The RLOA Covenants establish this requirement and outline the ACC design review process as one way we can ensure that modifications to a members property adhere to a minimum set of design guidelines and contribute to the overall enhancement of our community, helping to preserve or improve our property values.

 

The board has tried to implement a timely approval process that is not time consuming or difficult, but we do ask that when submitting the request, please be sure to include as much information as possible.  This will help the board understand and approve your request as quickly as possible.  The board is willing to work with homeowners on their request and will reach out to obtain more information if necessary; however, this can significantly slow down the approval process.  Including as much information as possible on the initial submission is very important.
